Ocean Drive
Classical architecture was carefully considered in the design planning of this beautiful, newly constructed home overlooking Corpus Christi Bay. While the front elevation, as seen from the street, follows the rules of classicism, the back unapologetically breaks them, with (still traditional, paned) windows almost entirely covering the back elevation and providing an incredible view of the Bay from nearly every room in the house. The interiors were informed by the colors of the landscape outside the windows: soft ocean blues, pale sunset pinks, and crisp palm greens. The first selection, a tropical scene hand painted onto silk wallpaper panels, by de Gournay, provided the perfect jumping point for the remainder of the design. The deep browns of heirloom antiques anchored the lightness of the design and was contrasted by a mix of rattan, bamboo, and lacquer finishes.
